JON PEARSON is an internationally known speaker, thinking skills consultant, and author. He is a Distinguished Leader at the Creative Education Foundation and has been a presenter at their Creative Problem Solving Institute for twenty-five straight years. He has performed on stage and television and has worked with more than one million students, teachers, and business people around the world.
Corporations for which he has worked include: Clorox, Kellogg’s, General Mills, General Motors, Novell, Direct Marketers Association, Food Processing Magazine, S.C.Johnson, the US Navy, and the Disney Corporation. The United States government selected him to tour schools throughout Asia. In addition, he has worked with over one thousand schools throughout America and received from the US Patent Model Foundation’s national “Creativity Conference for Educators” the highest workshop ratings in its history.
As a keynote speaker for business and schools he has addressed many state and national conferences and been a regular speaker for the National Inventive Thinking Association, The Creative Problem Solving Institute, The California Association for Gifted Education, the International Alliance for Learning, The Innovation Convergence, and the National Humor Project.
Jon has degrees in philosophy, the arts, a multiple subject teaching credential, and an honorary degree from Universidad Catolica de Santa Maria Arequipa, Peru. He has been a cartoonist for the Oakland Tribune, a graphic artist, a piano mover, university instructor, and an extra for the New York Metropolitan Opera.
Currently, he lives in Los Angeles, travels widely and designs creative thinking workshops and presentations for business and schools. As a visual artist, performer, and writer (he has written over three hundred short stories) he combines a rare blend of skills. He offers workshops on humor, storytelling, and simple (revolutionary) drawing techniques that help anyone get to the heart of their thinking instantly. Plus, Jon is a volcano of energy. He has been described as a “natural force.” And, once, someone called him a “national treasure.” He very much liked that.
