At the Creative Education Foundation (CEF), we’re proud of being both wicked frugal and wicked creative—finding smart ways to meet our needs with limited resources.
For more than a decade, CEF in Massachusetts was generously housed at the Inly School in Scituate (SIT-choo-it), thanks to our longtime friend, Head of School Donna Milani Luther. When Donna announced her retirement and Inly began expanding, we learned we couldn’t stay.
The timing was tough—moving meant sorting, storing, and changing every official address, all while finalizing the budget, managing FLCC registration, and running year-end giving. It was stressful, and it took a lot of weekends. But creativity opened doors. A new connection at Bay Farm Montessori School offered us both office and storage space, bartered through CPSI teacher scholarships and strategic planning support.
At the same time, the Center for Applied Imagination at Buffalo State gave us year-round CPSI storage, finally freeing the staff and our budget from the supply pod.
These moves were a heavy lift, but they’ve strengthened our workflow and deepened partnerships. CPS isn’t just something we teach—it’s how we operate. It helps us adapt quickly and without getting stuck. When change happens, creativity helps.
I invite you to do the same: use Creative Problem Solving to clarify what matters, imagine new possibilities, and turn change into an opportunity for growth.
